President's Message
As President of Local 48, my mission is to advocate for the well-being of our members so they can continue providing the highest level of service to the people of Cincinnati.
As President of Local 48, my mission is to advocate for the well-being of our members so they can continue providing the highest level of service to the people of Cincinnati.
As emergency calls increase, we must ensure that Cincinnati has the necessary personnel and resources to meet growing demands. Proper staffing, additional medic units, and up-to-date equipment are critical to providing life-saving services when seconds count.
Fire fighters face significant risks, including occupational cancer, heart disease, and mental health challenges. We are committed to securing resources for annual physicals, cancer screenings, and mental health support to keep our members healthy and ready to serve.
We believe in working closely with city leaders, policymakers, and the community to find solutions that enhance public safety while supporting those who put their lives on the line. A strong, well-equipped fire department benefits everyone.
This website is here not just to inform, but to connect. We invite you to learn more about the work we do, the challenges we face, and the values that guide us. Together, with transparency, collaboration, and respect, we can continue building a safer Cincinnati—one that supports its fire fighters and holds public service in the highest regard.
Thank you for your continued support. We are proud to serve you.
Fraternally,
Joseph Elliott, President
Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48
