President's Message

As President of Local 48, my mission is to advocate for the well-being of our members so they can continue providing the highest level of service to the people of Cincinnati.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the official website of Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48.

Since 1918, Local 48 has proudly represented the professional fire fighters who serve and protect the City of Cincinnati. Our members respond to tens of thousands of emergency calls each year—facing danger, uncertainty, and challenge with courage, skill, and compassion. We are honored to serve our community, and we do so with a deep sense of responsibility and pride.

As President of Local 48, I have the privilege of advocating for the safety, health, and well-being of our members—so they can continue to provide the highest level of service to you, the visitors and residents of Cincinnati. This includes fighting for safe staffing levels, safe and supportive working conditions and the resources necessary to meet the increasing demands placed on today’s fire service.

Protecting Public Safety

As emergency calls increase, we must ensure that Cincinnati has the necessary personnel and resources to meet growing demands. Proper staffing, additional medic units, and up-to-date equipment are critical to providing life-saving services when seconds count.

Health & Wellness

Fire fighters face significant risks, including occupational cancer, heart disease, and mental health challenges. We are committed to securing resources for annual physicals, cancer screenings, and mental health support to keep our members healthy and ready to serve.

Collaboration & Advocacy

We believe in working closely with city leaders, policymakers, and the community to find solutions that enhance public safety while supporting those who put their lives on the line. A strong, well-equipped fire department benefits everyone.
